Iwamoto's Photos

Painting with light.

Brandon Iwamoto is a freelance photographer based in Aurora, Colorado, USA

Did some engagement photos last night for an old friend of mine from high school and her fiancee out at the CU-Boulder campus. Was traveling light with only one Alienbee flash head plus umbrella and my Fuji X-Pro1, so lighting got kind of tricky after the sun disappeared, but overall I like the results.

Low light is simply outstanding with the Fuji, as myself and my friend Andrew were playing around with our respective cameras. The color reproduction in the first and third are stunning and the black and white gives the high ISO noise an almost film grain effect.

It was nice though, the photos turned out great and after chatting with the new owners for a minute may have landed myself a commercial job shooting advertising for them. Score.

I took my new Fuji X-Pro1 out to the mall to shoot today while hanging out with a couple of friends, so I thought I’d post a couple of shots from that little walk around here. Played around with the black and white mode (seems appropriate being the rangefinder-esque camera it is).

It’s nice to finally be posting back to this blog again.
